Ischemic stroke is a major healthcare problem
that represents the third leading cause of death in
Thailand. The overall incidence is around 206 per
100,000 population per year and is likely to rise in
the future. The disease accounts for 10% of deaths
and 50-60 percent of the patient are left permanently
disabled.
